Matt no estará presente cuando la banda empieze a trabajar en el nuevo álbum

Bassist Chris Wolstenholme of the English rock band Muse has revealed that lead vocalist Matt Bellamy, whom had written the majority of the band’s past material, will not be present as the band begins recording its new album.

Bellamy and celebrity actress fiancée Kate Hudson are anticipating the birth of their first child. Despite not being present in studio, Wolstenholme has let it be known that Bellamy is working on new Muse material on his own from home. “It can be a bit intimidating at times having a bigger role in the song writing,” Wolstenholme said. “Matt has done such a phenomenal job writing our songs in the past. I don’t want to be responsible for writing material that doesn’t live up to the expectations of our fans.”

The new album, which is expected to be a “softer” album compared to the 2009 hit “The Resistance”, is due for release in 2012. “It may be a bit softer,” said band drummer Dominic Howard. “Potentially, Chris and I could take it into a harder direction again. It is still taking form but I like the way we are headed. Maybe we can find some sort of middle ground and m
ake it a soft rock and hard rock hybrid.”
